Is it "low-dee" or "low-dye" or something completely different?

tj,

How come you can pronounce:

"How about this, KillerB --

Cheylesmore should be pronounced CHARLESMORE.
Styvechale should be pronounced STYE-CHULL."

BUT, can't pronounce Lodi?

btw, it's pronounced, now listen carefully, Lodi.

I always thought John Fogarty had it right.
So yes, that would indeed be "low-dye".

As someone who lives in the area, it is indeed LOW-dye.

Drew - tj's like 13 or something! He has no clue who CCR is? I'm pretty sure that right now he's thinking"yes I do, that's how you revive a heart attack victim".

Lodi is also the boyhood home of Robert Mondavi, as well as the current home of Mondavi, Woodbridge winery.
Lodi also supplies quite a lot of Zin grapes to the Napa/Sonoma top Zin producers due to their fairly good quality and abundance to add to the Napa/Sonoma juice with Napa/Sonoma labels.
Plus, it is home to Lucas Winery, whose original lawsuit was largely responsible for the recent Supreme Court ruling about shipping to other States.

It is hard to fathom someone not knowing who CCR is. You know everyone has heard their music; and "Lodi" is surely one of their signature songs. Maybe if we sing, "Rollin', Rollin', Rollin' on the River" the lightbulb will go on.

When I hear that song I think of Tina Turner. When I think of CCR I think of "Fortunate Son" or "Bad Moon Rising." Or "I Put A Spell On You" or "Down on the Corner."

Man, now that I think about it, they have had a LOT of good hits.
