This is what I typically use:

Actually, I've eyed Davidn's bag many times, looks perfect to me.

You are making this way to easy for us EW, but I'm not going to touch it with a 10 foot pole. That goes for Davidn's bag as well

Here's what I use for local travel. (I also bring it on to planes as a "carry-on" as well). It is made out of rubber Scuba type material that protects from bumping around, and also insulates quite well. I have the 4-bottle model. If you tote only one or two bottles, the extra space can be used for stems, (but not Somms).

I have the black model, not the leopard print.

wine tote

Beta testing a new signature.

Me too. It even has a large pocket on the side for a notebook or whatever and quite a bit of headspace too.

I have a couple of wine carriers but here's one that my wife purchased for me that I like for transporting wine locally. It's lightwight and care-free.

I took wine with me to a couple of restaurants in Rehoboth Beach, DE this past weekend. At one place, one of the other waitstaff folks commented that they had an unofficial poll going for what was in the case I brought and sat of the table.

I used to use a cardboard wine shipping box but have recently stepped up to this:

What, no lock?

Nice.

I can't remember, mine might have a lock. It's got some nice padding inside, too, in case you drop it or something, too.

ncvl,

Yeah, sure. But I had to carry YOUR case to your car because you were out in the back lot with Mrs. Null. The case was empty and still weighed a ton. Not for me!

I agree with david on the soft sided cooler. I have two of these:soft sided cooler

I have two, because they only offer coolers for single bottles! I am thinking about buying a larger one from another manufacturer though.

I don't do alot of travelling with multiple bottles of wine at this point, but in the past I used a touring hardshell case from one of my old amps that has been loaded up with foam and is lockable. Unfortunately, even empty, the things a bear, but it works and the price was right! I used to get the strangest looks when I would open it up and people would expect to see an amp or some other piece of equipment, but instead found 6 bottles of wine! Usually, after a pause I would hear something like "What no Jack Daniels?" It worked, but now that I'm married, I guess I'll have to get one that doesn't have a sticker on it that says "Ass, gas or grass. . .nobody rides for free!".

Lou,

I used to use a violin case. It was perfect for one bottle. Talk about looks when you open it in a restaurant (LOL).

Always ask for the rear corner table and sit facing the front door.

That's great!! You with your violin case, me with the amp case! That would be a sight to see!
