Probably wouldn't hurt. How are the environmental conditions in this area where the wine is stored?

It's in the basement. Usually about 60 degrees with moderate humidity. I really should get a gauge and measure it over time. I'm thinking now I should probably move it to the lower shelves to keep it cooler.

Yep, I'd recommend getting one of those thermometers that have the high/low capabilites. That way you can check it several times over various periods of time to make sure it isn't swinging too much and never peaks to high. Better safe than sorry.

I only count 49 bottles. That's pitiful; get out there and start buying more wine!!

I know. I have work to do! I tried to order a case of 98 Bernardus Cabernet from Stirling but he only had a few bottles!

nice growing collection. i remember when i had 50 bottles. i thought a 200 bottle rack would be all i would ever need .

as far as stirling goes, never use the website, it is hardly ever up to date. call mick direct at 1-908-647-5580, to order and check inventory, that is if i haven't bought all the good stuff already

good luck with you new disease

I still need to get one of those for my closet where my non-temp controlled stuff is located (my 'overflow'). But I still can't imagine having more than 120-140 bottles gievn my current storage capacity. Maybe when we move to a bigger place...

That's a good weekend start, so where do you store your M-F wine?

I had 40-50 at one point. kept getting new racks from Crate and Barrel and I filled them everytime. I eventually got a 3 temp EuroCave with with capacity for 260, and now I have all these C&B racks taking up space..... my fiancee is going to try to ebay them.

now the eurocave is usually close to full. even though I do my damnedness to empty it. i fear space will be a problem at every stage of this journey.

BaroloLUVR, you might want to move those wines to the lower shelf for two reasons, one, it will be cooler, and two you have less of a chance of breaking one...Enjoy.

I see there are plenty of "enablers" on this site, too! Makes it realllly tough to be good, huh?

My suggestion is to update your profile with your location. Time & time again, on most hobby sites, people are contantly upgrading their equipment, so they may have something lying around that would be perfect for your needs.

That is a great tip! Of course, all of my DC Crü buds are all set up with nice storage so this won't help me. But still that is great advice!
