Served a la' Bressler (with burgers). Decanted 1/2 hour before dinner. Glass out of bottle showed a little funkiness that blew off rather quickly. Thin to medium legs. Heavy oak odor. Medium bricking toward rim. Lot of tannins on first taste, with Vanilla. Tannins mellowed with time ( after about an hour) and with dinner revealing raspberry, currant, coffee, chocolate liqueur with vanilla remaining. Little finish.

Had this same wine about 1 1/2 years ago, and thought it was a decent cheap wine, a little too much oak, and a bit hot. Both of these have mellowed out. Wine is holding up well, should be ok for the next year. Not terribly well balanced, and the odor was a little off putting.

84 pts. Not bad for $7
