| Opened last night with flank steak, mashed potatos, and broccoli with holindaise sauce. Decanted for 45 minutes before drinking.
This wine is the first effort from a joint venure between Catena and Rothschild. It is 67% Cabernet and 33% Malbec.
The nose was interesting, lots of berries with a touch of vanilla. On the palate it was quite ripe, with berries, spice and a touch of cedar. The finish, while not ovely long, was enjoyable. Tannins are not gripping, but firm. I am not sure how long this will last in the cellar, the forward style makes me think that this is a wine to consume over the next 5 years instead of holding longer. | | |

| | dw, I had a bottle of this about 9 months ago and thought it had a great mouthfeel - very silky. I'm inclined to think this wine could go 10 years, even though it's accessible now - I think I gave this wine about 90 points. | | | |
