Decanted.  Poured after 60 minutes in the decanter.  Dark red/purple hue, very deep.  Raspberry/blackberry, spice, and vegetal pepper aromas on the nose.  Nicely concentrated, this young wine was at first a little tight.  Waited another 60 minutes and retasted to find that it was really starting to open up with an amazing purity of fruit flavor I do not often find (the purity reminded me of a great vintage of Qupe Hillside Estate Syrah).  The fruit and spice is shaded in oak, the finish long and tannic.  The tannic finish suggests that this has life ahead of it - I wouldn't be surprised to retaste next year and come to the same conclusion.
This is not a 95 point wine (WA score), but, IMO, is still outstanding.ÂVine 92.
