This is a Cabernet Sauvignon from Maipo Valley, Chile.
Translated, it means "Cellar of the Devil" and as many know, was named such so the workers didn't drink the wine down in the cellar of the devil.

Very weedy nose.
Palate more of the same.
Otherwise balanced, but I couldn't feed this to the family chuggers... so

Under 80 pts.

'99 was a much better year for this wine.

A shame. I've liked their other wines, especially the Don Melchor.

The Don Melchor is much more to my liking. I remember it being very smooth with an almost glycerin like mouthfeel... wish I remember the year though.

I've tried a couple of these and was never very much impressed. It's a $6 wine that tastes like a $5 wine.
