2003 Valentin Bianchi Malbec Particular - Argentina, Mendoza, San Rafael (3/3/2007)WIML90,PURPLE91,NOWA,WS90
Tasted March 3, 2007 at home as part of the Wino Depot Tasting With Friends Event for March. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Garnet color in the glass, slightly dusty looking throughout. Nose of spice, blueberries, maybe some strawberry, a leathery undercoat…very tough to evalaute upon opening. Flavors of Bing cherries, red licorice, intense cherries like a stewed fruit. Light to medium acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium body overall. Alcohol is fairly well integrated. Overall from a structure standpoint if there is anything wrong here it is the acidity. Drink over the short term. Nice wine. Recommended for short term consumption.
