Yesterday we tried Thai wine from
http://www.khaoyaiwinery.com/Pirom Khao Yai Reserve Tempranillo 2004the bottle opened with hot and alcoholic stink which went away in the glass and dissipated in the bottle during dinner. The storage was less than perfect, we picked up the bottle at the store where it was sitting on the front rack at 80+ degrees with no AC for god knows how long. Spaniards can breath easy - Thailand will not chase them off the market.
The good news is - it was rather palatable with local Chang Mai food and provided passable overall experience. I'd buy it again at 660 Bahts...but in Thailand only.
another product we are falling in love with is locally grown coffee. You can smell the teak wood in every cup of full body and very pleasant drink, too bad it's not exported to USA
