2002 Tikal Malbec Patriota - Argentina, Mendoza (5/17/2006) WIML91,NOWA,WS91 Tasted May 17, 2006 at an offline at The Catalina Room in Dallas, TX. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Opened a bottle of this last week so since it’s a new week it’s time for another bottle. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of blueberries, blackberries and licorice. Flavors of blackberries, black licorice and a little blueberry. Good tannins and acidity. Drink over the next few years. Based on the $24.99 I paid at a local retailer I’d say this wine’s value is between recommended and highly recommended. (91 pts.) Posted from CellarTracker

Isn't the Patriota a Bonarda blend, with some malbec? It used to be called the Corazon, if I remember correctly.

Yes, it's a blend of those two grapes. I don't recall the exact blend but it is a pretty significant about of each.
