This was tasted at 2 hours after splash decanting.

It had a nose of dark fruit, leather, and cigar box. On the palate, the wine's tannins were copious, but not overly hard. Flavors of plums and baked fruit were powerful enough to last for years, til the tannins soften a little. This needs a couple of years. 90-92

Thanks for the notes Board-O. I liked the 2000 and bought almost a case of '01's at Costco.($9.99/ea) I have given a few away and haven't tried on yet.I think I will wait a while to try one though as I thought the '00 would have been better with time.

$9.99 is a great price for the Cuvee Alexandre... is this the price you usually get for the CA? This is what we pay for the regular Cabernet down here.

Not reg price. Costco decided to blow these out for some reason. IIRC the reg price was around $14. My local costco has some great deals at times. Currently I really like the '02 Norman Shiraz for $9.99.

At $9.99 this is a great QPR indeed. I wish I could get those prices too. I mean...come on, I'm much closer to Chile than you!

Hey, I would much rather live close to Tuscany if I could choose!

Poped another one last night. It showed very well. Its nearing the ideal drinking window imho. Tannins have mellowed but could wait a couple more months. I left a glass for tonight to see what happens. LC91pts.
