  • 2001 Tikal Júbilo - Argentina, Mendoza (3/12/2005)
    Decanted for 45 minutes. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot.
    Beautiful, rich nose of blackberries and mint.
    Very smooth tannins and blackberries, blackberries and more blackberries on the palate.
    Medium body and finish.
    Not very complex, but very good! The wife enjoyed it and that's always a plus! (90 pts.)

Sounds nice. I've had the Patriota and the Corazon before. Frankly, I had not heard of the Jubilo.

Rothko,

The other Tikal wine that I've had and actually liked more than the Jubilo was the 2001 Amorio. It's 100% Malbec if my memory serves me right. I rated that one 92+pts.

I'll keep an eye out for it. We usually get lots of South American wines down here in South Florida.
