| A friend held a blind, QPR tasting of 8 red wines and 6 whites, for his sister in laws wedding. It was tilted towards South American wines (but not only) because the menu would be carnitas and other Mexican favorites. The red wine winner was the Altos Las Hormigas Malbec (actually it just nosed out the 2002 Kenwoord RRV Pinot Noir); I liked it for it's balance of ripe, extracted fruit - without being either sweet or flabby as some others were. The white wine was the clear favorite (primarily Verdejo): again neither sweet nor flabby as were some others in the category, rather, flinty, juicy, yet crisp. | | |

| Hi, Leonard.
I had the Malbec 2 weeks ago and found it enjoyable, just not too complex.

| The Altos Las Hormigas Malbec is definitely a QPR favorite... goes great with the lesser spicy thai dishes as well as many other foreign cuisines. | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |
