From Argentina. One step above the "El Portillo" line and right below their high-end bottling (Primus). Considering the deep ruby color and all the fruit forwardness, it's by no means Burgundian in style, so I would guess it's more like CA Pinot(?), though it seems to lacks to complexity to be in the same league. Very nice as soon as it was opened, but got better after half an hour or so. Very strong red fruit - mainly cherry and strawberry - as well as vanilla and leather. Not that many tannins and low acidity. Medium body and finish. It's not a top Pinot Noir, but it's certainly enjoyable and a good value for the price (I paid US$15). A very good surprise considering it's a South American PN and not the top wine from this producer. 86 pts.
