| Just opened one today... My first TN on this still stands, but to add, the tannins are really starting to integrate nicely. Please be aware this bottle I opened wasn't cellared in a 55 degree cellar, but in the basement where temps get a bit higher during the summer, so perhaps it's accelerated its aging a bit.
In any case, absolutely wonderful wine that was drinking fantastically right now, when remembering the above.
Anyone know if this wine is blended with something? Cab? Grenache? Or 100% malbec? | |

| | I've had several of these (2000s) over the last year+ and yeah they are (still somewhat) tannic (too much for my wife) - but oh so very tasty, dark and luxurious - smooth and meaty like one would expect from an M Rolland wine (drinks like a Malbec from Pomerol!). I think I paid nearly $50 - certainly upper $40s on release and bought 2 or 3...but about 6 months ago saw a bunch of these mixed in with clearence wines at Calvert & Woodley - they were about $32! I picked up 4 and should have bought them all (there were perhaps 8-10 bottles)...realized my mistake and went back only 2 days later...all gone of course...They said they put them on special to clear shelf space for a more recent vintage...which I have not yet seen or tasted...in fact I have only seen the 2000 version of this wine... | | | |
