| Tasted at the Rootses' place in Utrecht. Decided to give it a go because I had some and the young Sauternes that I tasted at the Decanter show were some of the most enjoyable that day.
Clear, pale straw colour and thick in the glass. Nice nose of honey and orange peel. In the mouth it was masses of sweet honey, orange and grapefruit with back tones of rambutin and pineapple. But this was no sickly sweetie, it was extremely refeshing and stayed alive so well that the following day there was no sign of deterioration. Not the best year for Rieussec but a great bargain if you don't want to splash the cash on the great years. | | | |
