| from the decanter. This is just unreal after time in the decanter. On the front palate it has massive amounts of tangelos and imported orange marmalade. On the midpalate it screams of well made French bistro creme brulee. On the 60+ second finish it is has lemon meringue and butterscotch with unbelievable acidity along with botrytis and great mouthfeel. This is the first time I have had the '90 from a decanter and it makes a HUGE difference.....at least at this point in its evolution. The '90 I had last winter was outstanding, but this was better. While it is not the '67 I had in 1990 I rate this wine 98pts. Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. For those that are wondering why this was opened on a Monday night.....my friend was going nuts about the West Virginia/Georgia game and he said I need to open a great bottle of wine.

| | Had my third bottle of this last night since release. WOW. I'm starting to understand how d'Yquem improves over years in the bottle. This was the best showing of this wine I've had and can hardly wait to see how it continues to improve in the bottle over the next 10-20 years. Now, if I could only write about the changes in the wine since the first bottle. It's really hard to explain other than it's better than ever. | | | |

| Had the 90 from Mag a week ago at an offline. Seemed less developed than I expected and probably need some additional decant time as well.
Of course that did not stop it from being delicious.

| Jay,
Being in a magnum the Yquem "developes" at about 80% as fast as it does in a 750.
So, if you can, save the mags for "last".

| | How many people does it take to drink a Magnum of d'Yquem? I'm guessing 15-20 at least. | | | |

It's easier to drink more if you mix it 50/50 Seven-Up.

| Seris answer...
Split 6 oz. 187 ml. Tenth 12.8 oz. 375 ml. Fifth 25.6 oz. 750 ml. Magnum 50 oz. 1.5 liters Double Magnum 100 oz. 3 liters
So, if there are 50 oz in one Magnum and the average pour of a Sauternes is 3 oz...
That's like 16 people.
So if everyone has two glasses...
8 people. | | | |
