Like a lot of stickies, the Yalumba usually seems to improve a bit 24-48 hours after opening. I just pop the cork back in and stick it in the regular fridge.

Interesting, I keep my leftover dessert wines in the cellar.

Enjoyed this tonight with dessert as "Thee Bungalow" in Ocean Beach, San Diego, California tonight. $23 from the winelist.

It filled the void left by my house favorites, Bullers Muscat and Chambers Tokay. I'd give it ~92 points, and high marks for good match with creme brulee and great value from a restaurant wine list.

Cheers, y'all

I got a case of this at Xmas as a bonus.

I wouldn't rate quite as highly as Mr Parker (98 really seems too high IMO), and I found it less concentrated than Chambers Ancient. But then a gain at a 10th the price.....well its a bargain. Great wine.

I paid $14 and change (per) for a couple of bottles. Recently had it at a restaurant and was very pleased, as were the other folks at the table. Some votes of "I've got to buy some of this!" It looks like I'll have to pick up some more as my Buller supplies have become more sporadic.

Opened a bottle of this on Saturday night after dinner and was just as impressed as the last time I had one. Somewhat lighter in body and less viscous than the Bullers, but just as appealing with a similiar flavor profile. Looking forward to finishing the bottle this upcoming weekend. I have found the Aussie stickies able to withstand several weeks in the kitchen fridge after opening with no degradation. At under $15 a bottle this QPR champ is a no- brainer.

I've generally found this wine to be fine for 3-4 days after opening simply re-corked and put in the fridge. Love the stuff!

N.V. Yalumba Muscat Museum Release - Australia, Victoria, North East, Rutherglen (6/14/2007)
WIML91,PURPLE92,~WA96,~WS94

Tasted June 14, 2007. Served double blind. Dark caramel color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of molasses, anise and caramel. Flavors of nuts, black licorice and molasses. Medium acidity, full bodied. Came across as a little hot on the palate so docked a point or two for that. Drink or hold. My double blind guess was that this was a PX. Missed that one. (91 pts.)

Yep, wineismylife, I prefer the Buller Rare to this wine.

This is a great one considering it costs $18.00. A real nice bottle of after-dinner drink, still going strong.

Quick note on this - there are at least 2 labels for the Yalumba Museum Reserve NV, one of which specifies the SE Australia designation. I picked up a bottle at Costco over the weekend ($15.99), but saw it at a local store for $14.99 this afternoon. I think WIML's note is pretty spot on with my experience, although I really didn't get any heat on the bottle I had.
