2002 Domaine des Baumard Quarts de Chaume

I wasn't sure where to place this one: French-Other since it is from the Loire or here. In the end I consider this a Sweet Wine so it goes here. The moderators can move the note as needed.

Tasted February 19, 2005 at a DAWGS offline at Lavendou in Dallas, TX. Opened and served immediately in Spiegelau Authentis WeissWein glasses. Clear and lovely light yellow to straw color in the glass. Heartstopping nose of tropical fruits, flowers, minerals and a little citrus. Wow nelly! This baby hit the palate and my eyes rolled. Full and rich wine throwing flavors on so many levels. Minerals, passion fruit, honey, nuts, citrus, etc… I’m betting this will morph into a honey dripping beauty over the next 20+ years. Highly recommended regardless of price. If you don’t own some of this I recommend you get off of the stick and buy some now. My WOTN by a long shot.

This wine ranges from good to excellent vintage-to-vintage. I tasted it under less than optimum conditions and thought it was probably a WOW wine.

Thanks for the note! I'm glad I have some in the cellar.

I'd recommend a wine-searcher.com search but I believe Premier Cru had 750mls recently for around $43.00 a bottle.

That's not too shabby of a price for a big WOW wine. Grazie.
