| This Beerenauslese dessert wine is a blend of 50% Scheurebe and 50% Weissburgunder. Scheurebe is also known as Sämling 88, and it used to be thought that it was a crossing of Riesling and Sylvaner, but recent genetic testing has proven that Sylvaner is out of the mix. The Gsellmann brothers say that this could have been at the more intense Trockenbeerenauslese level, but they decided to keep it as a Beerenauslese. They note a nice acidity that balances the sweetness. Fermentation began in oak barrique, then moved into big steel tanks to finish. A portion of it then went back into the barrique to age for 13 months.
from A La Carte: Juicy, classic, overwhelming fruit. Amazing balance, beautiful depth, while elegant. Big.

| I was asked on one of my other tasting notes to include the price of the bottle, so I am now doing this for all of my TN's.
This 500 ml bottle retails for: $24.50 | | | |
