Reminded me of a Ruby port until the last sip or two when it picked up some more complexity. It was showing some bricking, very smooth. A fun wine to try.

I had the 1929 and 1945 on Christmas Eve. Very good stuff.

I believe those were the other 2 vintages they had on the list. However they were more than twice the cost and we thought we would start with this one to see if we liked it.

From what I understand these were recently found in their original casks and recently bottled. The 1929 was pretty darned good as well as the 1945, but for my tastes the 1929 gets the nod. A little cross between excellent tawny port and a good to excellent Maderia.
