No note could do this wine justice. It exists on a completely different plane from any other Port I've had. Ready to drink now 96+ points and my WOTY.

I just looked this up on wine-searcher. It had better be good at $549/bottle!

juggs,

Apparently the person who brought this spent a little more than that on this wine. The wine was incredible. I've never tasted such a pure expression of what "fruit" means. The detail, complexity, and overwhelming soul-fulfilling qualities to this wine were beyond compare. Personally, when I can get '85 Fonseca for $85 I would never spend $600 on this bottle of wine. But, on the other hand, as I said, this was Port on a completely different level than anything I have experienced, and I wouldn't be surprised if it remains, to the end of my wine drinking career, the single greatest Port I will ever taste.

Now to be a heretic...THANKS DRAB!

WAAAAAA......

If you've been reading the notes I just posted, you know that every awesome wine we tried Friday night was off. This was no exception. How on Earth was this lighter and thinner than the '67?! This couldn't have passed for a good bottle of '83 Fonseca on any level. No note necessary, this wasn't corked, but it wasn't right. 91.5

I had to have some problem with its storage. There is simply NO SUCH THING as a bad bottle of Nacional other than if the provenance got screwed up somewhere.

I looked on winesearcher and found a bottle of this on winebid that is $490; no bids and ends 2/26. That's a hell of a buy if it doesn't get bid up. It says it is a 750 and it shows a picture of the Nacional.

The other bottles shown are north of $1000.
