WOW. Or, as close to it as a Wine gets. Paired with Scallops & Mushrooms. What a pairing. What a Wine. Perfect on both accounts.
Not decanted @ all, purposely. Watched it "open up" after about 40-45 minutes, very nicely. I think that j.b. mentioned that in another post (to give Kistlers about 40-45 minutes). Right on the $$$.
Buttery as the Wine was opened, as you swirl it & taste it. Beautiful, golden-yellow color. Nice fruity Aroma. Smell of Butter & Vanilla-dominant. Nice Finish of about 20 or so seconds. Beautiful.
But wait, as the Wine "opened up", the characteristics changed. Thus, my experiment---to see how the Wine will just change with time. Unreal. After 45minutes, the Butter faded & the Nutmeg came out.
On the Finish, a lot of Apricot (1st time ever I picked out/tasted this Fruit) on a Kister Dutton, & Vanilla remained. The Finish (after the Wine "opened up"), WOW, I am telling you 30+seconds. And, a perfect match to the Scallops.
I did Not even have to take another sip for some time, because the Taste of the Wine just remains/fills your mouth/palette.
GREAT Wine. Just GREAT. Another hit by this Vineyard. A few more bottles to go. Joy.

Drink now or hold, can go. No problem. BUT, as most people recommend with these Kistlers. Decant 40+ minutes & ENJOY friends, Enjoy (if you have these).
