yes, a 1997 Marsanne, this was part of an auction lot I won at the last Rhone Rangers tasting in SF.

Here is an example of why white Rhone varieties are not meant to age. Deep golden in color, nose is predominately petrol with a hint of grapefruit and lemon. The fruit has left the building, leaving a somewhat bitter, odd tasting, and mildly unpleasant wine.
