2002 J. Rochioli Chardonnay South River Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (8/22/2007) WIML92,WA92,NOWS Tasted August 22, 2007 at a DAWGS offline. Opened and served immediately. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of pears, yellow apples, florals and crushed almonds. Flavors of hazelnuts, pears, allspice, apples and butterscotch. Medium acidity, medium to full body. Drink over the short term. Upping my previous rating by a point. (92 pts.)

WIML - is this your first Rochioli SVD chard? Trying to determine how long I should let mine sit... just started getting them with the 2005's and patience is not a strong point.

I've had several SVD Chards from Rochioli over time. In general I find these wines to be one of those rare wines that tastes well both young and with age. I tend to lean towards liking them a little more with age on them myself.
