| - 2004 MacRostie Chardonnay Wildcat Mountain Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (3/30/2007)
This is a pretty voluptuous chardonnay, one that makes me think of those pin-up models from the 1940s -- Betty Grable in a bottle. Brash and bold, sexy but not shameless, this full-bodied wine exhibits mango, pineapple, lemon custard, and toasted oak. Rich creamy texture with a touch of heat on the finish. Flamboyant, but not over the top. There is some restraint in this wine, but this is definitely not for the shy or timid. Those looking for a lean, svelte, or well-chiseled chardonnay should look elsewhere. This baby's got back! (89 pts.)
