Not too shabby for Andrew Murray. If not for the pronounced heat on the finish, which is really surprising given the 13.5% printed on the label, I would even say that this is an excellent wine. Steely nose of caramel green apple, lemon peel, and minerals. On the palate, more green apple and citrus. Traces of oak on the midpalate and finish, which infuse the wine with a hint of butterscotch, but it's not overdone or obtrusive. Coarse and acidic finish, which in addition to the heat, tends to throws the wine slightly out of balance. But a perfectly acceptable wine to accompany my lowbrow microwave dinner of Lean Gourmet Swedish meatballs in a cream sauce with pasta. 87-88 points. (88 pts.)
