Many thanks to the other side of the table that shared this wine. WOW!

OOPS! You were on the "wrong" side of the table, weren't you.

I found the second bottle of this that I was supposed to bring sitting in another travel bag that I had not taken to SB. And you know the '00 probably would have been fantastic if we hadn't had this goodie at the same time.

This qualifies for my (still) wine of that night. I savored that sucker all the way to the end of dinner. If I don't count Champagne this will probably be my wine-of-the-month for March.

This wine was my white wine of the day, one of the very best Chardonnays from California I have ever tasted. Astounding purity and balance, the wine is drinking perfectly now and shows no sign of fading. An eyeopening wine, outstanding!

Eric,

When you say "white wine of the DAY" you mean you are including the other 283 white wines you had at the tasting event that afternoon, correct? If so, I would agree also.

It was definitely "still white wine of the day" for me even with the 283 white wines tasted earlier.

Although I have to say that there really weren't that many white wines at the Wine Cask Tasting as compared to previous year's events.

It's still early but I gotta say you're probably right.

I had a wonderful bottle of The Judge 12/31/05. I think that would give this Marcassin a run for the money but the Marcassin wins because of the age.

We almost opened The Judge that Friday night. I think we need a taste-off between the two wines.
