2000 Kistler Chardonnay Russian River Valley Dutton Ranch (WIML91,WA91,WS91)

Tasted October 1, 2005 at an offline so brief comments only. Opened and served immediately in a Riedel Restaurant Series Bordeaux stem. Dark yellow color in the glass, fairly clear hue. No notes on the aromas. Flavors of pears, cream, nutmeg and orange marmalade. OK I guess but I admit bias in that I typically love wines produced from the Dutton Ranch but this one left me wanting. Drink now or maybe hold another year without expecting any improvement. I’d recommend passing myself.

Fully agree with WIML comments. A very nice pear/apple aroma, but pretty tight, and I don't think it will be getting better. One fascinating note: It went extremely well with Caesar salad
