This Wiaheke Vineyard was the pioneer of the Vineyard isle in the Hauraki Gulf.

The lovely vibrant red and crimson colour of this wine was very enticing. The nose was refined with well defined notes of plum, cherry with softer more subtle notes of cedar coming through. The palate was initially soft and supple with lsuh forward red and balck fruit. The finish was however very hard with tannin dominace. This however aided the length. This wine needs time. Very concentrated and powerful Real iron fist, velvet glove. 93 points.
