Esk Valleys top wine. Very very rare (cult statis level) and certainly not cheap (about $350 NZD). It was only entered into the tasting because Gordon Russel had sent me a bottle to try for the tasting. It was tasted blind.

TN-
Big rich aromas bombarded the nose with chocolate, spiced plum (like Christmas pudding plums), aniseed and some slight hints of eucalypt. The palate is incredibly young exhibiting forward fine grain tannins, excellent mid and back palate with a very light forward palate. Acids needed to intergrate more. Very very concentrated, elegant and rich. 97 points.
