| Yeah I know Ws wine of the Week, so I thought I would post my TN.(by the way Cheers GFleener, mucho appreciated)
Colour: Light verging to water. Nose: grapefruit bitterness with hints of lemon grass and pear. Some granny apple smells as well (malic acid dominance.) Palate: Zesty with front palate dominance (mayhap some residual sweetness), good length finishing at the front palate, quite a warm wine. The texture is slightly mroe silky than I expected (higher alcohol , I think would be the primary cause.) Overall: yeah its quite good. I think there are better for the dollars though. The alcohol dominates the initial characters, creating a slight "mask" of the wines palate and nose.88 Points on the Jeremy Scale.

| I may pass on this year then - this cost me more than Cloudy Bay. Sounds fine but my limited space means that I have to forego he odd perennial favourite. I have the Cloudy Bay 2002 plus lots of Stonewall and Wairau River 2001 to keep me company. I know I may regret this. | | | |

| Invading a Jeremy post again. I remember thinking that I should save this but really, Killer, not this long
Had the last one on Saturday night and was pleased to say that it had survived remarkably well. It was a pale straw colour, notably darker than the last couple of NZ SB vintages but still had that spark. The edge had gone off the grapefruit leaving a milder wine. This was no bad thing and it did disappear at a very lively rate. Probably should not try to keep them this long in the future but still a good wine.

| | Had the 2000 and it was the first NZ SB I had ever had. It really got me into NZ SB. | | | |

| | I just opened my last bottle of this. It seems to have come together rather nicely. Fairly smooth and the alcohol Jeremy mentioned seems to have settled down quite a bit. I'd still peg it in the high 80's, maybe go all the way to 90. Not too shabby for the $16.00 I paid. | | Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| I just had the '03 last night - not bad, but comparing it to the last three NZ SB's I've had ('02 Cloudy Bay, '03 Cloudy Bay, '02 Drylands), it doesn't stack up. I'd like to preface by saying I'm a newbie to Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc's - I would be interest in what you more informed folks think.
Then again, at $12.99 from Costco, I don't think I threw my money away...

| The Dog Point is a "must buy" for me every year. I have my neighbor addicted to the stuff. She used to be a Santa Margarhita Pinot Grigio gal. I told her "If your gonna be my neighbor your gonna have to start drinking better wine "
I do like the Icon, I got it on sale and have been enjoying it!

| | I've been trying to decide which I like better -- Icon or Dogpoint. They both stack up well, but I think Cloudy Bay beats them all. | | | |

| | Had the 2002 Nobilo Icon Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc tonight. Nose gave a lot lemon grass, some pear and another green herbal fragrance that I can't quite pin point. The palate gave a hint of pear and lemon grass up front with the finish giving a little underipe green honeydew melon. I agree that it is more in balance than upon release. The alcohol has settled down to leave a very balanced wine. I'd give this a solid 90 pts. Served this with seafood soup. | | | |

| always a great buy - especially when you can find at Costco fairly consistently | | The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has it's limits... ps - friends don't let friends eat farmed salmon. | |
