| Had this wine over the weekend w/ a Thanksgiving dinner. Mrs. jb is away for the holiday so we decided to have dinner on Sat instead of Thus. Wine tasted from Riedel Vinum Chard stems.
Color of this wine is almost non existent. It is extremely clear with only the slightest hint of gold/green. Intense grapefruit nose with lovely tropical fruit, kiwi, and fresh cut grass. Lingering lively finish. jb Rating 89.
I have only tasted a few '02 NZ SB's but they have all been impressive. Seems like it is another successful year for New Zealand. ($13)

| | I was thinking of picking up a SB for the Holiday along with some other reds. I will keep my eye open for this one, thanks jb | | | |

| Also look for Selaks, seek. I thought that one was an excellent QPR and pretty lush for an SB. My TN on it got lost in the restructuring of the site. I'll see if I can find the notes and repost them.

| | I am a regular purchaser of the Selaks premium select SB during the summer months. Consistantly they are a fine fresh, zippy, fruity SB for around $10. The last one I had was the `01, so I am sure the `02's are out there somewhere, but may not be on the shelf until the `01's are gone. | | | |

| There is plenty of the '02 around here. If you want me to get a few for you, I can give 'em to ya when I see you in Dec. LMK.

| | I would agree with JB's 89pts on this one. Had last night with some sushi. This had a nice intense grapefruit and grassy nose. The flavors had a definite herbal componet of mowed grass with a touch of green bell pepper, nice citrusy flavors and acids with a touch of some tropical flavors. I really enjoyed this SB, have a few others to try in coming weeks to picke 1 or 2 for summer consumption. Also an aside pretty low alcohol in this one 12% | | | |

| | I just had this with sea scallops. It was grassy on the attack, but at mid palate citrus really kicked in and the herbal quality faded. Fabulous zest and acidity. A hint of lime showed through. Very nice SB | | | |

| I just had this last night. Here are my notes:
2002 Omaka Springs Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, New Zealand
12% alcohol. 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Semillon. Purchased locally at King’s for $14.99.
Opened and served immediately in Spiegelau Authentis WeissWein glasses. Absolutely clear in the glass. The color was a very light straw that almost appeared pink as you moved the glass around. Floral nose of grapefruit and tropical fruits. Flavors of mild grapefruit, citrus, a hint of peach with just a barely dedectable amount of honey at the back of the palatte. Mildly acidic and fairly easy drinking. 87 points. Drink now.
