Last night I made a quick and easy dish with what I could find in the house. Pasta, garlic, basil, pesto, parmesan cheese and pinon nuts. I paired this with a Vino Noceto Sangiovesse ........ Mmmmmm........absoulutly perfect! Heaven on earth!!

What you prepared is one of my favorite dishes to cook. Throw in a little superb quality olive oil and you have one delicious dish.

And I agree - Sangiovese is absolutely perfect with it. My mouth is watering...

Yup LilacWine, I forgot to mention the olive oil. I used a Morrocan olive oil (much more of an "olive" flavor) as opposed to my French (Ponns I believe) oil that I usually use. Sometimes I'll even add a little aged balsamic vinigar to the dish.

I prefer Italian,Spanish or even some California olive oil. I bought some Moroccan olive oil while in Morocco, not my favorite.

I admit that the Moroccan oil isn't for everybody, it does have quite the different taste. It's only one of at least 6 different oils that I use regulary. I'm very fond of many of the Italian olive oils that I've tried, but haven't found a great California as of yet. Many seem to be a bit to green or grassy for my taste. Any recommendations ??

Yes. Turley's 2002 olive oil is my "house olive oil". Great stuff and only $15 a bottle.

Yep. I thought WS way underrated it. The Araujo disappers from my pantry all too quickly.

What Jones said. 1 more bottle on the way with the last Mailer. Although, it is a little more expensive. If I remember correctly about $25.00.

Norcalvinolover - you might want to try McEvoy California olive oils if you are looking for a high quality domestic.
