Interesting article from asianweek about pairing wine with asian foods. Time to eat some shrimp tempura with some wine! http://www.asianweek.com/2008/04/02/wine-pairing-tasting-asian-food/ have you guys found any other asian foods that go good with wine?

I really like white rhone varietals (assuming sufficient acidity) with Southeastern Asian cuisine.

There is such a wide spectrum in asian foods, the safest answer IS beer. But it would really depend on what dishes you're thinking about?Thai Curries? Korean BBQ? Yakisoba? Ginger Beef? Scallops with fermented black bean sauce? You could be talking anything from riesling to merlot to zinfandel to champagne. (Just had Hue Vietnamese beer with a variety of dishes. )

About a year ago, SF Chronicle suggested the pairing of a stir-fry having beef/onions/red & green bell peppers/tomatoes in a black bean sauce with Merlot and it does go well together.
