In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is .ps - friends don't let friends eat farmed salmon.

You know it's winter when...

Yesterday I whipped up a great big batch of Pasta Fa Zul. Probably not an "Authentic" recipe, but I sure love it, and it's a hearty food that just speaks of winter to me. FWIW:

Cook up about 5-6 links each of mild and hot Italian sausage (adjust based on your preference for spice), drain
add a bunch of canned tomato sauce (I use the entire huge can sold at Costco)
through in a bunch of kidney beans - again, I buy the huge can at Costco and use about 2/3 of the can
add about 1/2 - 3/4 cup dried onions
add about 1 cup or more of red wine

Let that all simmer for a while. When you're about ready to eat, boil up a whole mess of wide egg noodles. Just before serving, add about 2-3 cups of mozzerella cheese to the sauce. You can either serve the sauce over the noodles, or what I do is to just mix it all together in one huge batch to desired consistency.

Serves about 1000 people, give or take

Freezes great, perfect for those quick meals when you don't feel like cooking.

Baked Beans
Cole Slaw
Deviled Eggs

Tasted terrific. I haven't had any Ribs since August and that is a LONG time without Ribs for a Memphis boy.

Lots of Sushi. Went to Iron Sushi in NYC... hole in the wall place on 3rd Ave between 31st and 30th. Rolls were o.k. (banana roll was interesting), but the sashimi/sushi was pretty good. 4 of us walked out of there completely full, for $25 a person, including tip (no drinks, though).

Did it pay off? And by "over" where exactly do you mean? Are you still living at Etude?
