Blood colored, the nose immediately tells you that you are not dealing with your typical Aussie fruit-bomb here, displaying very Northern Rhone-ish character of black pepper, sweet black cherries, a bit of barnyard, and earthy notes. On the palate firm bold tannins and good acidity frame sweet fruit, and it finishes medium and tannic. One to lay down for a few years, this should develop nicely. 90+ points, and a surprising value at less than $15.
