1998 Goundrey Reserve Selection Chardonnay (Mt. Barker Western Australia) -- beautiful burnished copper/amber color; thick legs; rich nose of honey, hazelnuts; full bodied (13.5% alc.), with intense flavors of hazelnut, toffee, cream, hints of lemon, vanilla, green apple; long creamy finish dominated by nuts and apple. I had forgotten about this bottle for a few years, and opened it with low expectations. Time was very kind to it. App. 91-2 pts.
