Opened tonight for instore tasting.

The colour was a deep purple, the nose was quite forward and powerful displaying eucalypt /blue gum, tobacco, aniseed, violets and cocoa. The palate was big and forward, the tannins receeded quickly along with most of the flavours, but the length of the wine was impressive. Leaving a good good rounding of flavours. It was warm on the palate, suggesting a little time int he decanter to get some mroe air into it would help. All in all a good wine though.

A solid 88 points for a wine that retails around $12 USD.

Hi Jeremy

Trentham Estates are a favourite, and Anthony Murphy a friend. They make great value wines from the river land, avoiding all jammy and over ripe characters.

Heck, even the Sauvignon Blanc is good, although not, of course, in the Marlborough style or class.

I really like the Trentham wines across the board...yes even the sav blanc. For the price I think they are great. The only wine I am a little so-so about is the Merlot which I find a little simplistic and edging to wards over-ripe.

They are amongst my favourite everyday wines. Them and Bodegas Lurton.
