Purchased for $17. Paired with braised short ribs.

Very dark purple color. This wine looks dense, but is not. The bouquet is somewhat perfumed - lilac, lavender, and black cherry. I found this wine to be a bit overacidic, with flavors of cranberry, green beans, and underripe strawberries. A bold dash of black pepper frames the finish. 87P.

Because of the acidity, this wine was better with food than on its own. Very different style from Barossa shirazes - leaner and spicier.
