very nice right out of the bottle. nice nose, great mouthfeel, smooth & silky. cassis & strawberry flavors, some vanilla & spice. medium finish. good stuff. 90 points, good qpr for the $21 i paid. drink now or over the next year or 2 i'd say.

Hello

Agreed, I tried all three, and put the 2000 Reserve Shiraz in my cellar, very nice group of wines.

I just picked up the 2001's to give a try. If they are like the 2000 they should be quite good wines.

gfleener, you only gave 1-2 years on the 2000 Shiraz? I felt it can go a good 7-8 years with out a hiccup, interesting!

seek1,

what i drank & commented on was the cabernet &, frankly, i'm guessing that, since it is good now & has good structure, it should easily last a couple of years. for what its worth, the last glass was even better 24 hours later, so i'll give it a 1 point bump. last night it exhibited more dark fruits rather than the strawberry i tasted the night before & was even smoother; so, perhaps, it would have benefitted from an hour or so in the decanter. i will definitely decant the next bottle for an hour or so before pouring.

I paid $25.99- but worth it- The Jazins are loving this wine tonight!
One of the best Australians we have tasted. We uncorked the bottle about an hour prior to drinking- this wine is ready to drink now! All black/deep fruit...Roasted Black Cherry, Cinnamon, Toasted Vanilla, - basically baking spices and deep dark fruit. An incredible nose, even the empty wine glass smells teriffic! The wine is mouth-filling and the finish is long lasting. We are having trouble making this bottle last- more than an hour- it is just so delicious!
Drinking it at home tonight while watching the Golden Globes and w/ Garlic Bread and Orichette w/ red clam sauce- Definately will go buy more at this price. Tastes like a much more expensive wine.
(Bought at rt. 22 SuperSaver in Bridgewater, NJ) YUM!!

SORRY- this is SHIRAZ not the Cab!
But gassed a little last night and trying the rest tonight- still a great wine, taste licorice, dark fruit- smooth and mouth-filling! Will be going back to buy more this week!

FYI- The 99 and 2000 Cabs are avail at PJs in NYC for 34.99.
I am going to get more of the SHIRAZ- it is one of the BEST wines the Jazins have ever had for the price !
Reminded us a bit of a Martinelli Guiseppe and Luisa.

Jazin the 2000 Shiraz is $27.89 up here. See if you can get a case discount.

I may get a case if they have enough- I think they do 10% there- and 10% off 25.99 makes it an even better price! Have not decided on the Cabs yet... but we are curious to try them as well. 34.99 seems high, though- based on this thread. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it back to that wine store til Fri night after work.

$42CAD

Deep ruby red. Berry and blackcurrant nose with a hint of eucalyptus. Lush, unctuous, refined wine with dark crushed fruits and a hint of raw sugar on the lingering finish. 90 points.

Beautiful. Starts out somewhat with a blast. Deep, dark fruits and spicy mocha, almost would have guessed syrah. Full and velour-like on the palate. Somewhat fading finish. Don't remember what I paid. IMO could go another year or more and still have alot to say.

The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has it's limits...
