i bought a case of this in 1998. i now have six bottles left. i paid $17 a bottle. i drank this wine over the last two nights. first night opened and drank immediately. this wine improved and totally opened up the second night. 14.2%alc.

dark purple, amber at the edges. thick slow moving legs. excellent nose of blacberries, pain grille, earth and spices. medium to full bodied, excellent balance. flavors of cherries, licorice and spice. the tightness has disappeared on the second night. soft silky tannins and good acidity suggests this wine still has plenty of time. this wine was never an in your face aussie, but more like a cross between a rhone and an aussie. it improved at least two points by the second night. me91, rp91+ btw, parker suggests drinking this wine from 2002-2015.
