| I have never tried this type of Australian blend before. The label says a blend of Grenache, Shiraz, and Mataro. The only way I can descibe this wine (words tend to fail me) is something like Marquis Philips Shirax on steroids!
Did not decant. Poured one glass, and let sit for 30 minutes (had unexpected company last night - thought I'd pop this one). This was one of the smoothest reds I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. Drank over 2 1/2 hours. The flavors (red fruits/plums?) kept on coming. Medium to long finish. Tannic enough to last a few years in the cellar.
WS indicates a $45 retail price. Got 6 at winebid.com for $20 each. I won them before the ratings came out. Lucky me. Next time I want to wow someone with an Aussie wine, I'm going to open another one of these!!! | | | |

| | The 99 Steading is very nice. The 98 is the best vintage of the Steading. The 97 is the worst Steading yet but even still rates a solid 90. Torbreck has not yet made a wine that is not very fine. | | | |

| Budman, Canal's is selling Woodcutter white for $12.99 and The Factor 2000 (Syrah and Viognier) for $74.99 (a RP 95 I think) these prices seem pretty reasonable to me. Let me know next time you go.
