| From the Barossa Valley in Australia. Purchased for $40 in Sydney. Served at dinner with kybo last night.
Very closed upon first opening. Decanted for 3 hours before serving, and continued to open up for another 2 hours after that.
A brawny and serious shiraz. With air, the substantial frame filled out with black raspberry, plum, black pepper, and sage flavors. Satiny texture, with a persistent finish. Needs some more time to reach Parker's 93P rating, but 91-92P wine right now (once it catches its breath in the decanter).
Cheers,

| Wow. Sounds like a winner. I wish I had something left from the 98 Peter Lehmanns I had. But I was a dork and drank the few bottles I bought (and certainly not this particular bottle). Nice notes, thanka. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| Hi Dork , The 1996's are only just starting to enter into thier drinking window. Just as well as you live on tyhe otherside of the pond or I would have to arrest you for vininfanticide. | | Cheers Ric www.torbwine.com | |

| A package of 8 bottles of this wine with 8 different lables is currently on offer here in Ontario for CAD$399, or about CAD$50 a bottle (USD$35). Seems a bit steep, even if I wanted 8 bottles. It was about USD$ 30 a bottle in London this summer, but we passed in favour of a 96 Peter Lehmann Stonewell for the same price. | | | |

| I'm with TORB, we have some of the '96 8 songs, and it is great right now. (The '94 Stonewell, if you see any is fantasic) | | | |

| A thousand apologies, I misrepresented the truth above. It was not the Stonewell we got instead (though a bottle of the 96 was gifted to us in London!) it was the 96 Elderton Command shiraz. Another wine that needs 10 years, by all accounts. | | | |

| We had a bottle of this on Saturday, and it was drinking very well. A polished Shiraz that went very well with lamb. 92 points. | | | |

| Had this on Sunday. Rich fruit, smooth texture, long finish. 92 pts sounds right on. | | | |

| Sequ,
IMNotSoHumbleBigotedOpinion this wine is over-ripe and going pruny. I don't think much of it at all. | | Cheers Ric www.torbwine.com | |
