From the Barossa Valley in Australia. Purchased for $63 in Sydney. Served at dinner with kybo.

Cedar, maraschino cherry, and licorice on the nose. Ripe dark fruits on the palate, with lots of American oak at the forefront. Soft, pillowy and plush. Really smooth. Very approachable now. Not all that complex, but full of flavor. 92P.

This paired especially well with the hickory-smoked "drunk and dirty" beef tenderloin I served for dinner, since the bourbon in the marinade is also aged in American oak.

Cheers,

Otis
