Unscrewed and poured. Dark purple. Pronounced aromas of black fruits & red fruits plus a hint of cough syrup, and spice. Medium body in mouth, the ripe fruit cascades over the palate....blackberry jam, stewed plums, apricots & other dried fruits. Tannins and acidity in harmony with the fruit. Long finish. Although this wine seems to be slightly tamed from previous tastings it still possesses a wealth of intense fruit flavors.......maybe not a wine for everyone but you can't deny the quality...........people who love this style should very much enjoy a bottle of this. Also, was still going strong on day 2! (90 pts.)

Unscrewed and poured. Deep hue. Pronounced aromas of black pepper, smoked meats, dark fruits, and maybe even a touch of teriyaki sauce. Medium body. Huge, jammy notes of blackberry and raspberry on the palate are veiled in spicy, sometimes savory elements like vanilla bean, peppered salumi, herb-roasted meats, freshly ground peppercorn and more. Long finish, mild tannins. Has really developed some complexity. Giving more at present than the 2004, which was tasted alongside. Loads of sediment, best to decant. Have to agree with all who have stated what an outstanding QPR wine this is. (92 pts.)
