| - 2006 Hundred Acre Vineyard Gold - Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley (3/22/2007)
Tasted at a retail tasting. Not sure what goes into this wine -- I suspect sauvignon blanc and viognier -- but the aromatics are terrific! I could smell and look at this wine all day. Ripe peaches, honeydew melon, and orange zest on the nose. The palate suffers a bit, however, with delicate notes of citrus and lime washed over with peach Kool-Aid. Medium body. Flavors grind to a halt on the finish, which leaves the wine a bit coarse and acidic. Quite a shame really, because the nose is really quite lovely. Pretty package too. 87-88 points. (88 pts.)
