Clemence used less oak for this wine and it shows allowing the fruit characters through.

Colour: Darker red than most shiraz (like black doris plum dark.)
Nose: chocolate, black pepper, feral black berry and star anise.
Palate: Impressive structure drying the mouth as it slips down your throat. tannins and acids intergrate to create a medly of texture and flavours. Yum!!
Overall: A great find. 90 points for $15 USD also.

Thanks for the notes on the Trimbach 89 VDT Riesling. great price by the way- I bought five bottles the other day for around $45 USD- a little high but bloody nice wine. Your tn's backed up what I had heard.
