This wine reminded me so much of Bordeaux I had to check with Chester (the wine maker) that it was Aussie. He just smiled.

Colour: Dark red
Nose: Cedar, tobacco and leather, some plum notes evident as the glass warmed.
Palate: Excellent tannins, elegant acids and an intergrated palate meant this wine left a lasting impression upon me. Length was good and the finish was exquisite, leaving the lovely savoury woody notes rolling around the palate.
Overall: A Bordeaux impersonator if ever there was one. 90 points.

66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc.

Medium garnet/purple colour. Aromas of blackcurrant, maraschino cherries, vanilla, and herbs. Medium-full bodied. Tart, with tobacco and red fruits. Short finish, ~ 15s. 82 points (03/28/2004).

I've seen notes rating this 90 points both here and on WS. Either I'm out to lunch or this needs a lot or air or cellar time. This was poured for me at a trade tasting.
