| - 2004 Glen Eldon Shiraz Dry Bore - Australia, South Australia, Barossa (1/18/2007)
Based upon my enjoyment of the 2003 vintage of this wine, I decided to try the 2004. I was not disappointed. Sweet nose of chocolate peppermint patty. On the palate, this creamy -- and certainly fatty -- wine exhibits blackberry jam, coconut, and vanilla flavors. Smooth lingering coconut cream finish. Rich and luscious, this is a hedonistic Aussie shiraz that is very well worth its "under $25" price tag. (92 pts.)
